Strata — we supply everything. One installed price per foot. We source the lights, the powder-coated aluminum track color-matched to your fascia, and all the hardware, then install it and hand you a working system. Nothing to order, nothing to research. Runs $30–$33/ft all-in.

Govee — you buy the lights, we do the rest. You purchase Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights directly from Govee or Amazon at retail, and we install them in SnapTrack aluminum channel. You own the hardware outright and the manufacturer warranty sits in your name. Runs $22–$25/ft all-in, including what you pay for the lights.

Same crew, same powder-coated aluminum channel, same fully concealed wiring, same HOA-compliant daytime finish. The only real difference is who buys the hardware.

Pricing

EverLights DIY bundles start at a few hundred dollars for short runs and scale up based on roofline length. Pro-installed pricing through EverLights-certified installers is quoted dealer-by-dealer rather than published, and varies significantly with home size and roofline complexity.

Govee with professional installation runs $22–$25 per linear foot all-in. That figure includes what you pay Govee or Amazon for the lights, plus our install covering the SnapTrack channel, mounting hardware, wiring concealment, and setup. We take no markup on the hardware.

Strata runs $30–$33 per linear foot all-in as a single installed price, with everything supplied by us.

For a typical 180-foot two-story Denver home:

Warranty

EverLights has a genuinely interesting warranty structure, and to their credit they publish it plainly:

• Self-installed color-changing lights: 1-year product warranty
• Certified-installer color-changing lights: 5-year product warranty + 1-year labor
• EverLights Classic (white only): 15-year warranty regardless of who installs

That's a real win for EverLights if you go through their certified network. Two things worth understanding before you weigh it, though.

First, the labor line. Their labor warranty is one year — which is not a knock, it's the category norm. Nobody in permanent lighting covers free labor indefinitely. Read that number for what it is: after year one, a failed bulb on a second-story peak means the part may be covered but you're paying someone for the ladder and the drive. That's true of EverLights, it's true of Trimlight and JellyFish, and it's true of us. When you compare warranties across brands, compare the labor lines, because that's the part that actually costs money.

Second, the extended coverage is tied to their installer network. The 5-year term exists because a certified installer did the work. That's a reasonable structure, but it means your coverage and your installer are the same relationship — worth asking what happens if that installer leaves the market.

And the 15-year Classic warranty, which is genuinely exceptional, applies to white only. If you want color, you're comparing against the 5-year term, not the 15.

Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights carry a standard manufacturer warranty held directly by you as the purchaser. Shorter in duration than EverLights' certified-install term, but registered in your name rather than your installer's — it isn't tied to us or anyone else staying in business, and any installer can service the hardware.

Strata carries coverage from us and from the manufacturer. We put the specific terms in writing on your quote before you commit to anything. We don't publish warranty language we can't stand behind on paper.

Before you sign with anyone — us included — ask three things in writing: how many years of labor are covered, what the service call fee is after that window, and who handles service if your installer leaves the market.

Install Model

EverLights supports both DIY and pro install. Their DIY kits are designed for homeowner installation — which is useful if you're handy and have a simple roofline. They also operate a certified-installer network where EverLights-trained pros handle the install (and that's where the extended warranty kicks in).

Govee is retail-only for the product itself. Installation is always separate. We install Govee because the product is solid and widely available, and we pair it with a commercial aluminum channel system that's independent of the lights themselves.

If you want the option to do it yourself and only maybe hire a pro, EverLights' DIY-friendly approach is appealing. If you were always planning to hire a pro anyway, Govee + independent installer gives you more flexibility on who does the work.

The Track / Channel System

EverLights offers multiple channel options (Edge, Flush, Pro) that you select based on your home's fascia style. Their closed-channel designs fully conceal wiring and are color-matched.

Govee's default DIY kit comes with adhesive-style clips that mount directly to the fascia — not a channel. This is where Govee DIY installs fail in Colorado weather: clips don't survive the freeze-thaw cycles and UV exposure long-term. That's exactly why pro installers pair Govee with a commercial aluminum channel — essentially giving you EverLights-style enclosed track protection with the Govee LED product.

The practical result: a professionally installed Govee system in a proper aluminum channel is structurally equivalent to a pro-installed EverLights system. Both conceal wiring, both handle Colorado weather, both pass HOA review.

HOA Approval

Both systems pass HOA architectural review in the vast majority of Denver Metro homes when installed in a proper aluminum channel. What doesn't pass review: DIY Govee installs using only the adhesive clips, since wiring and attachment hardware remain visible.

If your HOA is strict (Highlands Ranch, most Castle Rock master-planned communities, Tallyn's Reach in Aurora), insist on channel-based installation regardless of which LED brand you pick.

What We'd Tell Our Own Family

EverLights and a professionally installed system in aluminum channel both produce beautiful, long-lasting permanent lighting for Denver Metro homes. EverLights has a longer product warranty through their certified network; our Govee path has lower all-in cost and a warranty you hold yourself.

If you're leaning toward an all-white architectural look and plan to keep the home 15+ years, EverLights Classic's warranty is genuinely hard to beat — just go in knowing it's white only. If you want full color capability and the lowest all-in cost, Govee with a professional aluminum track install gives you the same nighttime look for less money. If you want color and would rather not source anything yourself, that's what Strata is for.

What we'd never recommend for any brand: a DIY adhesive-clip install in Colorado. You'll be replacing it in 2-3 years.
