Permanent Lighting for Castle Rock's High-Elevation Homes

Castle Rock has grown into one of the most architecturally varied markets in the Front Range — small-town original housing, large master-planned communities, and the high-end custom builds in Castle Pines all coexist within a few miles of each other. What ties them together is altitude, weather exposure, and an HOA culture that takes exterior presentation seriously. Permanent lighting is increasingly the standard answer.

Castle Rock's elevation makes one practical thing different from the rest of the metro: your install window is shorter on both ends. Sitting roughly 600 feet higher than Denver proper means winters arrive earlier and linger later, with more freeze-thaw events compressing the comfortable installation season. Plan to book ahead in fall — the back half of November is often already snow-on-ground in The Meadows and Founders Village while the south metro is still mowing. We schedule Castle Rock and Castle Pines jobs first when fall fills up.

Colorado-Weather Rated

Built for Castle Rock's near-6,200-ft elevation — colder winters, deeper snow, and intense UV. Lightweight clip-based installs don't survive a year here. Aluminum track does.

Castle Rock HOA & Architectural Review

Castle Rock's master-planned communities — especially The Meadows, Terrain, and Cobblestone Ranch — have detailed architectural guidelines that cover exterior lighting. Our aluminum track system is built for exactly this kind of review: the hardware matches your fascia color, wiring is fully concealed, and the daytime appearance is essentially invisible from the curb. We provide the technical documentation you'll need for your HOA application.

6,200 Feet of Weather: What Castle Rock Hardware Has to Survive

Castle Rock sits at nearly 6,200 feet — meaningfully higher than most of the metro — which means colder winters, deeper snow, and more intense UV in summer. Lightweight clip-based installs simply don't survive here long-term. The commercial-grade aluminum channel we install is rated for high-elevation weather year after year.

The Castle Rock Star on top of the butte and the downtown Starlighting ceremony are town traditions. Homeowners here take holiday and architectural lighting seriously. Permanent lights let your home carry that same polish every day of the year — not just December.

What Does Outdoor Lighting Installation Cost in Castle Rock?

Castle Rock homes typically run $18–$21 per linear foot installed — typically $1,200-$4,500 for most homes, with custom Castle Pines installs running higher. That covers the aluminum channel track, mounting hardware, wiring concealment, and app setup for your chosen system. Two-story homes in The Meadows and Founders Village land mid-range; larger custom homes in Castle Pines or on acreage near Red Hawk with complex rooflines push higher. The lights themselves ($300-$700 depending on home size and brand) are purchased separately by you, direct from Govee or Amazon — we take no markup on the product and the warranty is registered in your name. Lights included, most projects work out to about $22–$25 per linear foot all-in. If you would rather not order anything yourself, we also install Strata at $30–$33 per linear foot all-in, where we supply the lights, the color-matched aluminum track, and all hardware for one installed price. Same crew, same powder-coated channel, same fully concealed wiring either way.

The range reflects the fact that you own the lights — you order the lights directly from Govee or Amazon, and our quote covers professional installation, the aluminum channel track system, all mounting hardware, wiring concealment, app setup, and a walkthrough. No markup on the lights themselves.

We provide exact quotes from photos of your home — free, fully remote, and with no obligation to book.

What Denver Metro Homeowners Are Saying

★★★★★
"5280 lights did a fantastic job putting up the Govee Pro Lights and snaptrack system. Our home on one side had about a 30' height on one side and the technicians scaled the home carefully and mounted the track and lights with professionalism and everything works amazing. The built in Govee programs make a first timer in programming 1,000's of different scenes from XMAS, 4th of July, to our Denver Bronco football team. You cannot go wrong with hiring 5280 for your permanent outside lighting solution. Call Jake, he will take care of you."

★★★★★
"I had a great experience with Jake and his crew. Communication was excellent throughout the project, and the team was professional, respectful, and easy to work with.

The installation came out very clean and looks significantly better than having the cords exposed. The custom track was color-matched to the house, so the lights now look integrated into the exterior rather than added on afterward. The finished result is neat, polished, and looks like it was designed as part of the home.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering a permanent lighting installation."

Castle Rock Permanent Lighting FAQ

Is this the same as holiday Christmas light installation?
No. Seasonal Christmas light companies hang temporary bulbs in November and take them down in January — you pay every year, and the lights only work for six weeks. Permanent lighting is installed once, stays on your house year-round, and functions as both architectural accent lighting (warm white or dim gold every night) and color lighting for holidays, game days, and seasons. The hardware is built to last 10+ years.
Will my Castle Rock HOA approve this?
In almost all cases, yes. The aluminum track is color-matched to your fascia and essentially invisible from the street during daylight — which is the main thing architectural review committees care about. We provide technical documentation for your application. If your specific HOA has questions, we'll help you address them before the install.
How long does installation take?
Most single-family homes are installed in a single day. Larger homes with complex rooflines or detached structures occasionally run into a second day. We show up on time with all the mounting hardware, channel, and tools — you don't need to provide anything except access to an outdoor outlet.
Do I buy the lights or do you?
That depends on the path you choose. On the Govee path, you buy the lights — we tell you exactly which model to order and how many feet you need, quoted remotely from photos of your home. Buying direct from Govee or Amazon means you pay retail — no installer markup — and your warranty is with the manufacturer, in your own name. Our quote covers professional installation, the commercial aluminum track system, wiring concealment, app setup, and the walkthrough. On the Strata path, we supply everything — lights, track, and labor — in one installed price.
What happens if a bulb fails?
On the Govee path, your lights carry a manufacturer warranty held directly by you, in your own name — since you bought them, your warranty is with Govee, not us. That's a better deal for you than going through a middleman. On the Strata path, coverage is confirmed in writing on your quote. If you'd like us to come out and do the physical swap of a bulb, we offer that as a service call.
Do you service areas outside Castle Rock?
Yes — we cover the full Denver Metro area, including Aurora, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Littleton, Lakewood, Denver, Englewood, and Westminster. Our pricing is consistent across the metro, so your location doesn't change what you pay.
