Christmas Light Installation, Done Once.

We don’t hang lights in November and take them down in January. We install permanent lights on your roofline one time — and they come on for Christmas, every holiday after, and any night you want.

The straight answer

5280 Lights is a permanent lighting installer, not a seasonal Christmas light service. If you want lights hung for this season and removed in January, a seasonal installer is the right call — and usually the cheaper one for the first few years. If you’re done paying for the same install every fall, we mount lights in a color-matched aluminum track on your roofline once. Most Denver Metro homes pay $2,200 to $7,800 all-in, with no hang or takedown fees after that.

Pick what fits your home

Seasonal install or permanent lights?

Both put lights on your house for Christmas. The difference is whether you pay for it once or every year.

Seasonal installer

Hung in fall, removed in January

$1,000–$2,000 every year

Best if you only want lights for December, rent your home, or plan to move in the next couple of years. We don’t offer this service.

Permanent · 5280 Signature

We supply everything

$26–$30/ft all-in, once

Lights, track, power and installation under one price, with a dedicated warm-white LED for everyday lighting.

Seasonal figure is the typical Denver Metro range for a hang-and-remove service. Permanent figures are our published 2026 pricing; every job has an $1,250 minimum.

What you get instead of a seasonal install

Permanent vs seasonal: the cost over time

Here is a typical 200-foot Denver Metro roofline at 2026 pricing. The permanent figure is a Govee install including the lights.

Option Year 1 Year 5 Year 10
Seasonal, rental lights$1,200$6,000$12,000
Seasonal, your own lights$1,000$3,000$5,500
Permanent (5280 Lights)$4,560$4,560$4,560

Permanent lights cost more up front. They pass the rental model in year four, and a cheaper seasonal installer who hangs your own lights stays less expensive for longer — until about year nine on this example. Your numbers depend on your roofline and the seasonal quote you’re comparing against. The full breakdown is in our permanent vs temporary Christmas lights comparison, and totals by home size are in our permanent Christmas lights cost guide.

When a seasonal installer is the better choice

Permanent lights aren’t right for every home. A seasonal service is likely the better fit if:

If none of those fit, permanent lights usually cost less over time and give you lights all year.

What recent customers said

I had a great experience with Jake and his crew. Communication was excellent throughout the project, and the team was professional, respectful, and easy to work with.

The installation came out very clean and looks significantly better than having the cords exposed. The custom track was color-matched to the house, so the lights now look integrated into the exterior rather than added on afterward. The finished result is neat, polished, and looks like it was designed as part of the home.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering a permanent lighting installation.

5280 lights did a fantastic job putting up the Govee Pro Lights and snaptrack system. Our home on one side had about a 30' height on one side and the technicians scaled the home carefully and mounted the track and lights with professionalism and everything works amazing. The built in Govee programs make a first timer in programming 1,000's of different scenes from XMAS, 4th of July, to our Denver Bronco football team. You cannot go wrong with hiring 5280 for your permanent outside lighting solution. Call Jake, he will take care of you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you hang and take down Christmas lights every year?

No. We only install permanent lighting. The lights go up once in an aluminum track on your roofline and stay there. If you want lights hung for one season and removed in January, a seasonal Christmas light company is the right choice.

How much does permanent Christmas light installation cost in Denver?

Most Denver Metro homes pay $2,200 to $7,800 all-in. Govee lights in our aluminum track run about $22–$25 per foot all-in, and 5280 Signature, with everything supplied, runs $26–$30 per foot all-in. There is an $1,250 minimum.

Can you get lights up before Christmas?

Most installs happen within about two weeks of the deposit, and most homes take one day. Book by November 7 for lights up before Thanksgiving.

Will my house look like it has Christmas lights up all year?

No. The track is powder-coated to match your trim and every wire is hidden inside it, so in daylight it reads as trim. At night you choose warm white, any color, or off.

Can it do a classic Christmas look?

Yes. Run warm white, red and green, or any color you like — Govee includes built-in Christmas scenes — then switch to something else in January.

Do I need an electrician?

Usually not. The lights plug into a standard exterior outlet, and we run power from the nearest one with the cable hidden in the track. You only need a licensed electrician if you want a new outlet added, and that’s done before install day.
